J.C. Roddick Ion Microprobe (SHRIMP) Laboratory

SHRIMP is the acronym for Sensitive High Resolution Ion MicroProbe (ASI Pty. Ltd., Australia). It is a highly-specialized and particularly large adaptation of a conventional ion microprobe, designed for the micro-scale isotopic analysis of solids. The GSC has the SHRIMP II model, the second generation, commercial version. It is the only SHRIMP II in North America.
